Accounts All reservations must be secured by a non-refundable deposit equal to the cost of the first nights’ accommodation. This deposit becomes payable 30 days prior to arrival at the Sentry Mead. The deposit must be paid using a credit or debit card. Guests will not be allowed to stay without a valid credit or debit card as security. Additional payments can be made at the guests’ request an should the booking be cancelled any monies due back in accordance with our cancellation policy will be refunded.
Accounts must be settled in full on day of departure.
No allowances are made for meals not taken. We accept most major credit and debit cards with no fee. We are no longer able to accept cheques as payment. We reserve the right to alter our tariff should circumstances beyond our control make it necessary.
Check-in and Check-out
Guests may check-in any time between 3 pm and 9 pm and check-out is between 9.30 am and 11 am on the day of departure. If an earlier departure is required accounts should be settled the night before. We are sorry, but rooms cannot be kept past 11 am.
Dogs are welcomed throughout the establishment with the exception of the dining room during breakfast service. The tariff is £10 per dog for the first night and £3 per additional night up to a maximum of £28. These charges are to cover the cost of additional cleaning and increased wear and tear. Second and subsequent dogs staying in the same room will be half price. Very small dogs may benefit from a discounted rate.
Children of all ages are welcome at Sentry Mead. However, we do not have any family or interconnecting rooms. Nor do we have any facilities to put extra beds into rooms. Therefore, children must be able to take their own room or parents will need to separate to take a child each. No discounts are offered for children during May to September, Easter and the October half-term. There are some rooms that can take a cot. Surcharges will apply for infants sharing and bookings for infants must be made direct with Sentry Mead.
We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract between themselves and the Sentry Mead. We would suggest taking out insurance to cover any cancellation costs. Cancellation is free if cancelled with more than 30 days’ notice. If cancelled with less than 30 days notice and more than 24 hrs notice then only the first nights’ accommodation is charged. If cancelled within 24 hrs, or in the case of a no-show, the full cost of the stay will be charged. The days of notice required are based on a check-in time of 3 pm.
Damage to Property
We reserve the right to charge guests for damage beyond normal wear and tear. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will, however, make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and, therefore, will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
Sentry Mead is now entirely non-smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke anywhere on the premises. Electronic cigarettes are not permitted anywhere inside the building.
Sentry Mead has its own off-street car parking available. There is also plenty of unrestricted on road parking at the corner of Madeira Road and Granville Road. Single Guests may book a double or a twin room for sole-occupancy. Some rooms are available at a discount – please ask at the time of booking as discounts can only be given on direct bookings.
External 13 amp sockets are available for guests to charge their electric cars. A £5 charge for an overnight connection will apply.
Ferry inclusive bookings are available. These will only be available to bookings made direct with Sentry Mead via telephone or email. There are a limited number available and minimum stay restrictions do apply. Some dates are exempt. Please check at the time of booking.
We advise you to take out insurance to cover the cost of cancellation and other risks including loss or damage to personal belongings or personal accident. The establishment’s liability for guest belongings is generally limited under the Hotel Proprietors Act. Sentry Mead maintains appropriate insurance cover where the establishment is at fault for any injury, loss or damage suffered by our guests.
Wi-Fi is available free of charge to our guests and is available throughout the building. Please bring your device. There are no printing facilities.
